Abstract:
contents of the model
The model is part of the model package CemoS, a program system for exposure concentration estimates of environmentally hazardous chemicals. CemoS/Plume calculates the atmospheric transport of chemicals following point emission (e.g. from a chimney), assuming that atmospheric and meteorological properties are constant. Advective transport by wind as well as dilution by atmosperic dispersion is taken into account. Deposition to ground and potential inhalation dose are estimated from stationary concentrations. It is possible to determine the concentration of a chemical at a given point or along the main wind direction.
principles of the model
The 'plume-model' is derived from the dispersion-advection equation. Dispersion in x-(wind)direction is neufis/glected as well as elimination of the chemical and any reaction with the ground.
