This model is based on the proportionality between the light interception of crops and their growth rate under favourable conditions. The parameters used are based on a field trial in 1991 under non-limiting conditions (Kreuze et al., 1995). The model has been used to analyze the results from field trials in 1993 and 1994 and to compare rapeseed and Crambe in their ability to produce erucic acid.
