FLUSS is a one-dimensional numerical model for dynamic simulations of the cross-sectionally averaged transport of water constituents and the longitudinal water quality situation for a tidal river/estuary. Output: time series at specific locations or longitudinal profiles for specific times. The parameters are the following: water elevation, current velocity, temperature, salinity (or other conservative parameters), SPM, trace compounds, dissolved oxygen, BOD, nutrients, chlorophyll.

transport of water and water constituents; transport processes and interactions between the constituents are simulated by time-dependent cross-sectionally averaged transport equations in a river segment between 2 measuring sites using these measurements as boundary conditions; physical, chemical and biological processes; inputs (e.g. from waste water sewage plants) as time functions.
