Abstract:
A generalized simple lake model consisting of three equations describing
phosphorus as limiting element, and phytoplankton and zooplankton in uniformly
mixed layers of water with specified depth (MIX) is developed.
The reservoir/lake due to variable throughflow (Q/V), extinction coefficient of rates
for, light and annually varying temperature. Annual changes of sedimentation are
expressed by means of the function PIDI. Geographical location is given by annual
changes of temperature, radiation and photoperiod. Inflow of phosphorus, algae and
zooplankton are inputs. Model purpose
To investigate some general
features of lake ecosystems, particular for management purposes.
