Abstract:

The Joyce et al. Resource Program Assessment (RPA) Model is a conceptual and simulation model depicting how global circulation models (GCMs), ecosystem models and economic models can be linked to study the effect of climate change on forest production and economics at large continental scales. Components of the model include GCMs, TEM (terrestrial ecosystem model) and ATLAS (a timber inventory model). The model has been developed by several people under the coordination of Linda Joyce in Ft. Collins, Colorado. The combined models help to forecast fifty years of timber projections.
