The formulation of STREAM was based on moving segment approach in the Cell-In- Series (CIS) system where stream is assumed as a series of completely mixed reactors. Major constituents included in STREAM are Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Biogeochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Suspended Solid (SS), Coliform Bacteria, Nitrogen Series, Phosphorus Series and Phytoplankton. Dissolved oxygen change caused by Sediment Oxygen Demand the model structure. STREAM was programmed in BASIC language and can be executed on the personal computer. STREAM was designed for implementation with EGA/VGA color graphic. The model results and the measured data are displayed in the computer screen and the output device in graphic format. A demonstration application is presented to validate the STREAM model. The results indicated that the STREAM model could effectively simulate water qualities of steep and shallow where longitudinal dispersive transport is negligible.
