This a simulation model that estimate the Soil Water Tension (SWT) to regulate the irrigation cycle in commercial crops. It was developed for Centro Internacional de Agricultura Tropical (CIAT) by Ricardo Sanchez and Javier Vergara. The model uses meteorological data and soil data, with mathematical models, simulate daily SWT which is used as a decision tool to irrigate at CIAT. The model was written in QUICKBASIC and run in any WINDOWS system.
